Canadian tennis player Felix Auger-Aliassime (25 years old, ranked 9th in the world) failed to qualify for the quarterfinals of the Masters tournament in Indian Wells, being defeated in the round of 16 by Frenchman Arthur Fils (21 years old, ranked 32nd in the world), who won after one hour and 53 minutes, with a score of 2-0 in sets, 6-3, 7-6 (9).
The Frenchman started the match in the best way possible, with two safe games on his own serve, in between which he also managed a break, taking an immediate 3-0 lead. By the end of the opening set, both players had held serve and the Fils had won 6-3 after 38 minutes of play.

Fils had an excellent start to the second set as well, managing to take the Canadian's serve from the first game. However, unlike in the first set, Auger-Aliassime was able to recover the break in the second set, in game eight, to reach the tie-break, which was absolutely insane.
The Canadian started the decisive game with five consecutive points, but even a 5-0 lead was not enough to win the set, as Fils finally managed to come back and prevail 11-9 after 75 minutes.
Arthur Fils, who produced the surprise against the world's top 10 player, will play in the Indian Wells quarterfinals against the winner of the match between Alexander Zverev and Frances Tiafoe, according to sportal.blic.rs
