People's deputy, sergeant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, volunteer Lyudmila Buymister announced her joining the “Fatherland” faction from the podium of the Verkhovna Rada.
She explained her decision by the fact that only Yulia Tymoshenko's faction never voted against the national interests of the state and human rights during the six years of work of this parliament.
“I am joining the team of “Motherland” in order to build the country we dream of together. And I call on all factions to unite in a broad coalition of national unity — for the sake of Victory and for the sake of our common Motherland,” said the deputy.
Buimister emphasized that she considers her trip to the parliament as part of the “Servant of the People” team to be a mistake. In 2021, she left the faction because of her principled position, which did not coincide with the party's policy.
For reference: Lyudmila Buimister took an active part in the Revolution of Dignity — she rescued wounded protesters in the Mykhailiv Monastery. From the beginning of the full-scale invasion, she led the volunteer battalion of the Shevchenkiv district of Kyiv, which from the first days took part in the defense of the capital. Subsequently, she was mobilized to the ranks of the Armed Forces. Currently, her unit is performing combat missions in the hottest areas of the front. Widely known among volunteer patriots.
Lyudmila Buimister is constantly working on strengthening the country's defense capabilities, has a lot of experience in law-making activities on defense and national security issues.
Also, Ludmila Buimister returned three kidnapped children from occupied Mariupol from Russia and took them into her family.
