Mirel Rădoi was at FCSB once before, between June 2015 and November 2015, for his very first coaching experience. The tenure ended with a row between him and his godfather and a failure to qualify for a European competition, and in 2023 he promised not to return, in order not to risk another scandal. It seems that, however, Mirel Rădoi was busy with Gigi Becali and would have agreed to come and help, even without money.

In the extensive interview given to GSP, he told the story behind the scenes of his departure from FCSB and said that there is no way back to the red-blue formation.
“I would not return to FCSB because it happened once with his godfather, Gică Hagi, and once with his son, with me. Then, if it happened twice, I don't expect anything else the third time. It is clear that he will never change. Then why should we quarrel once more, after it took us I don't know how long to reconcile?
Yes, the door is probably closed on both sidesand from my side, and from his side, that he saw that… I'm trying to put myself in his position, and it's not easy. I consider myself a difficult guy and maybe I disturb a lot with my mouth, with my behavior. That's how I was. As he hasn't changed, I probably won't either. I'm trying to be more flexible, it's hard for me, but I'm trying to do it. I have also put myself in their place, it is not easy to collaborate with me, I probably have my problems too. But the moment you take on something, you have to be a man to the end, no matter what happens!”, said Mirel Rădoi in the 2023 interview.

Since then, Mirel Rădoi has continued his coaching career. He also trained Romania U21, the first representative team, Craiova University, Al-Tai, Al-Bataeh and Al-Jazira. He was also the sports manager of the U21 national team for a short time. So far, he has not managed to win any trophy.
Mirel Rădoi will fight at FCSB for a ranking in 7th place, the first in the play-out, which could lead the team to a playoff for the Conference League, thus saving a disastrous season. FCSB enters the play-out with 23 points, the first in the relegation group.
