This winter, residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory actively traveled around the country, visiting more than 70 regions. The most popular destinations were the Irkutsk region and Buryatia, located on both sides of Lake Baikal.
Enthusiastic tourists were not frightened even by forty-degree frosts: they took pictures against the backdrop of transparent turquoise ice, met seals, swam in hot springs, skated, khivus or jeeps.
As analytics of anonymized data from MegaFon subscribers shows, winter does not change the habits of Krasnoyarsk residents to travel around the country. At the end of the year, January was among the top five most active months for mobile Internet use outside the region.

A quarter of all traveling residents of the region went to the Irkutsk region and Buryatia. In addition to such traditional destinations as Moscow and St. Petersburg, the top lines of the ranking were occupied by the ski resorts of the Krasnodar Territory and the thermal springs of the Tyumen region.
In addition, residents of the region showed a 34% increase in interest in traveling to Blagoveshchensk, which borders China, which was expected against the backdrop of the introduction of a visa-free regime between countries. Tourists are attracted by convenient transport links with the Celestial Empire across the Amur River and the opportunity to get acquainted with local culture and customs.
In turn, the Krasnoyarsk Territory received tourists from 50 regions in winter. The bulk were neighbors from Khakassia, Novosibirsk and Kemerovo regions. The most visited city has traditionally been Krasnoyarsk, called the gastronomic capital of Russia. In addition to restaurants with unique cuisine, the city on the Yenisei has many natural attractions where you can enjoy the Siberian landscapes and breathe fresh air.
“Over the past year, we have improved communications in popular tourist places – the Krasnoyarsk Pillars National Park, the Bobrovy Log ski resort, Shumikha Bay and the Mana River. In these and other locations, our subscribers can use fast Internet, make digital calls using VoLTE technology and stay connected in any situation, which makes active recreation comfortable and safe,” said Andrey Kim, director of MegaFon in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
