The total number of American soldiers killed in the conflict with Iran has reached six, according to the announcement made by the army on Monday, quoted by Sky News.
US forces have recovered the lifeless bodies of two servicemen who were last seen at a facility attacked during Iran's first strikes in the region.
The identity of the slain soldiers is not released for the first 24 hours after next of kin are notified.
The first four US soldiers killed in the conflict were part of a unit in Kuwait, two US officials told The Washington Post.
The first three deaths were announced on Sunday and the fourth was reported on Monday. The official announcement also did not disclose the location of the deaths, a situation the publication described as a departure from the Defense Department's traditional procedures for reporting such situations.
