In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, police used their service weapons to detain a drunk driver.
Information that a Honda Fit driven by a drunk driver was spotted on the street in Krasnoturansk came to the police from local residents. The message was immediately transmitted to the nearest traffic police crew. Traffic inspectors tried to stop the offender, but he tried to escape.
“During the pursuit, the man grossly violated traffic rules: he repeatedly drove into oncoming traffic in prohibited places, creating a real threat to the life and health of citizens,” the press service explained.
To stop the offender, the traffic police inspector decided to use his service weapon. First, the policeman fired twice into the air, and then fired several more shots at the tires of the car, which made it possible to detain the offender.
He turned out to be a 50-year-old local resident.

“The intoxication examination established that the man was drunk – the device showed 0.85 mg/l of ethanol vapor in the exhaled air. The detainee explained his action as a quarrel with his wife,” the press service said.
Several administrative materials were compiled against the violator. The man faces punishment for driving while intoxicated (Part 1 of Article 12.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation), failure to comply with the requirement to stop (Part 2 of Article 12.25 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation), as well as repeated driving into the oncoming lane (Part 4 of Article 12.15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). In addition, it turned out that the car was not registered in the prescribed manner, and the driver did not have a compulsory motor liability insurance policy (part 1 of article 12.1 and part 2 of article 12.37 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). The vehicle was sent to a special parking lot.
