The Ministry of Justice announces on Monday the results of the selection for the heads of the large prosecutor's offices

The Ministry of Justice publishes on Monday the results of the selection after the interviews for the appointment of the heads of the Prosecutor's Office of the High Court of Cassation and Justice (PICCJ), the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) and the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT).

The Ministry of Justice announced that on Monday, March 2, it will publish on the institution's website the results of the selection conducted following the four days of interviews organized for the appointment of the leadership of the major prosecutor's offices: the Prosecutor's Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice (PICCJ), the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) and the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT).
Minister Radu Marinescu will submit the motivated proposals to the Section for Prosecutors of the CSM, for issuing the advisory opinion. Afterwards, the proposals will be sent to the president Nicusor Dan, who will make the final decision.
18 candidates registered for the leadership of PÎCCJ, DNA and DIICOT
For the positions of chief prosecutor and deputy chief prosecutor at the Prosecutor's Office of the High Court of Cassation and Justice, the National Anti-Corruption Directorate and the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT), 18 candidates applied, with 19 candidacies registered, because prosecutor Bogdan Pîrlog initially applied for both the ICCJ Prosecutor's Office and the head of DIICOT, later, withdrawing his candidacy for DIICOT.
The interviews took place for four days at the Ministry of Justice, and the 18 candidates had 30 minutes to support their project, which must meet several criteria.
Who are the registered candidates?
For the position of general prosecutor of the PÎCCJ the following registered: Cristina Chiriac, chief service prosecutor within the DNA Iaşi and Bogdan-Ciprian Pîrlog, from the Prosecutor's Office of the Bucharest Military Court, while the current chief prosecutor of the DNA, Marius Voineag, signed up for the position of deputy general prosecutor.
For the position of chief prosecutor of the DNA signed up: Tatiana Toader, the current deputy of the institution, the prosecutor within DIICOT Vlad Grigorescu and Ioan-Viorel Cerbu, prosecutor within the DNA, delegated to the position of deputy chief prosecutor of the same institution.
For the post of DNA deputy there were three candidates: Mihai Prună, prosecutor of the PICCJ Criminal Investigation Section, Marinela Mincă, chief prosecutor of the Judicial Section within DNA and Marius-Ionel Ştefan, chief service prosecutor within DNA Pitesti.
For the position of chief prosecutor of DIICOT signed up: Ioana-Bogdana Albani, chief service prosecutor within the central structure of DIICOT, Antonia Diaconu, chief service prosecutor within DIICOT Pitesti, Alina Albu, current chief prosecutor of DIICOT AND Codrin-Horaţiu Miron, chief service prosecutor within DIICOT Timişoara.
Military prosecutor Bogdan-Ciprian Pîrlog, from the Military Prosecutor's Office attached to the Bucharest Military Court, withdrew from the race, citing that there are “remarkable professionals” among the candidates.
For the position of Deputy Chief Prosecutor of DIICOT signed up: Aurel-Cristian Lzăr, prosecutor at DIICOT Timișoara, Alex-Florin Florența, the current general prosecutor of Romania, Claudia-Ionela Curelaru, deputy chief prosecutor of DIICOT, Gill-Julien Grigore-Iacobici, prosecutor at the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Court of Appeal Constanţa and Mihai-Răzvan Negulescu, prosecutor at DIICOT.
