Viktor Orban on the attack on Iran. “Oil supplies will be suspended”

Viktor Orban posted an entry on X after the US and Israel attacked Iran. At the same time, he turned to Volodymyr Zelensky. “The war involving Iran has doubled the importance of the Druzhba oil pipeline. I again call on President Zelensky to immediately resume oil supplies to Hungary!” – he wrote.

Budapest accuses Kiev of deliberately suspending deliveries of Russian oil through the pipeline, which was damaged as a result of the Russian attack at the end of January. Ukraine maintains that the oil pipeline is being repaired.

The Hungarian Prime Minister also published a short interview in which he was asked about events in the Middle East. — I can say with certainty that Iran supplies the world with a significant amount of oil. If there is a war there, supplies will be stopped. Second, Iran controls a very important sea lane. We don't know whether he will be able to control or even block it during or after the war, Blikk said in a conversation with a reporter.

Orban estimated that less oil would reach the global market, which would drive up prices. — That's why cheap oil flowing from Russia through the Druzhba pipeline is so important, he said.

— We are facing a serious war that will paralyze local oil production and make its transportation even more difficult, he concluded.

The world reacts to the war in Iran. “We reject unilateral military action by the United States and Israel.”

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez also spoke. “We reject the unilateral military actions of the United States and Israel, which amount to escalation and contribute to the creation of a more insecure and hostile international order,” he wrote on the X website.
Earlier, the attack on Iran was criticized by Iran's ally, Russia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for an end to the attacks and a return “to the path of a political and diplomatic solution.”
