British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's government agreed on Tuesday to release documents relating to the appointment of former Prince Andrew as a trade envoy in connection with his contacts with American financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was the UK's Special Representative for International Trade and Investment from 2001 to 2011. This position allowed him to meet senior business and government figures around the world.
British police launched an investigation into Mountbatten-Windsor after the US government released emails in January that appeared to show that the former prince, while serving as an envoy, passed confidential information to Epstein.
Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on Thursday morning on suspicion of abuse of public office. After the 11th hour, he was released without charge, but the investigation continues and he may be asked to provide further explanations or be detained again.
On Friday, the police asked Andrzej's former and current security staff to consider whether they had seen or heard anything that could be relevant to suspicions about him, and if so, to provide this information. This call is related to another thread that emerged after the publication of the latest tranche of documents from the investigation into the late Epstein. They show that Epstein sent a young woman to Great Britain in 2010 for sexual contact with the then prince. (PAP)
