Will Igor Tudor manage to restore Tottenham?

Spurs are having a complicated season in the Premier League. After the first 26 matches, the London group is only in 16th place in the standings, with a lead of only four points over West Ham, the first team below the red line.

Tottenham have also failed to win a league game in 2026, with their last success coming on 28 December 2025, 1-0 against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Since then, today's hosts have recorded four defeats and four draws in the Premier League, results that eventually led to the sacking of Thomas Frank.

However, it is important to note that Tottenham performed very well in the Champions League, finishing 4th in their single group, a performance that came with direct qualification to the last 16 of the competition.

Arsenal can no longer afford missteps in the Premier League

On the other hand, Mikel Arteta's team is the leader in England, but the lead at the top of the standings has decreased to just two lengths, this after the “gunners” recorded two consecutive draws in the championship (1-1 with Brentford, respectively 2-2 with Wolverhampton).

These last two results may also be a result of Arsenal continuing to struggle on all fronts this season. In addition to the championship and the Champions League, the Emirates group is also anchored in the domestic cups (FA Cup and League Cup).

However, tonight's guest coach is of the opinion that the team at his disposal can cope with the four competitions, but highlighted the importance of the match with Spurs, stating that his team absolutely needs victory, this is not to give Manchester City the chance to take over the top of the table in the next stage.

The “Tunarii” have categorically prevailed in the championship round

The first direct duel between the two teams in the current season took place last autumn, on November 23, 2025 to be exact, and then Mikel Arteta's team won without the right to appeal at the Emirates, score 4-1.

Eberechi Eze's hat-trick (41', 46', 76') and Leandro Trossard's (36') gave the Gunners victory, while Richarlison (55') scored Spurs' goal of honour.

Radu Drăgușin missed that match, being unavailable due to a knee injury that kept him away from the pitch for almost a year.
