For the second time since the beginning of 2026, Dinamo will return to the “Arcul de Triumf” stadium, this time for the quarter-final match of the Romanian Betano Cup, against Metalul Buzău.
The one-leg duel, for qualification in the semi-finals of the Romanian Cup, Dinamo – Metalul Buzău, is scheduled for Thursday, March 5, from 20:00.
However, the confrontation will not take place in the country's largest stadium, but in the 7,000-seat arena near the Cașin Monastery, according to dinamo1948.club.
Dinamo returns to “Arc” for the Romanian Cup match
Dinamo, which usually plays its home matches at the National Arena, will return to the “Arcul de Triumf” stadium for the Cup duel, scheduled for early March. Dynamo officials have already submitted, about two weeks before, a request to the administrators of the “Arcul de Triumf” Sports Complex to be able to host that match there.
It is for the second time in 2026 that the “dogs” take the decision to change the stadium, the duel with Metalul Buzău being the third this year to be played somewhere other than the National Arena.
In 2026, Dinamo also played on “Arc” matches with Petrolul, from the Superliga, a 1-1 draw, and with Hermannstadt, in the last stage of the group stage in the Romanian Betano Cup, clear victory, score 2-0.
The full schedule of the “quarter” finals of the Romanian Cup:
-
Tuesday, March 3, 19:00, U Cluj – Hermannstadt
-
Wednesday, March 4, 17:30, FC Argeș – Gloria Bistrița
-
Wednesday, March 4, 8:30 p.m., Craiova University – CFR Cluj
-
Thursday, March 5, 20:00, Dinamo – Metalul Buzău
FCSB could also move to the “Arc de Triomphe” if they miss the play-offs
The Romanian champion will move from the National Arena if she doesn't make the play-offs. The FCSB management has already prepared the documents for a pre-contract to rent the Arcul de Triumf stadium after the end of the regular season.
With 3 stages left in the regular season, FCSB is out of the play-off places. Even if they beat Metaloglobus, UTA and U Cluj in the last 3 rounds, the champion would still not be 100% sure of the place in the top 6. At the moment, it is in 9th place.
The last time FCSB played there was in September 2024, with UTA, score 2-0.
