Krasnoyarsk schoolchildren and students will be taught to recognize deepfakes and AI fraud

February 19 10:00
Thematic lessons on financial security have started in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Classes are held both in person and online and annually bring together schoolchildren and students, helping them understand digital threats and financial risks.
Lessons are traditionally held on the eve of the International Olympiad on Financial Security. This year, the finals of the Olympiad will take place in the fall at the Siberian Federal University in Krasnoyarsk. The regional organizing committee is headed by Governor Mikhail Kotyukov, the federal one is headed by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.

This year's theme is “The Dark Side of Artificial Intelligence.” Participants will be told how scammers use neural networks: creating deepfakes with voice and video substitution, sending new generation phishing messages, and generating fake calls. Using real examples, they will figure out how to avoid falling for tricks and protect their data.
They will separately discuss digital hygiene: what a digital footprint is, why it is dangerous and how to properly store personal data.
Lesson materials are available on the Commonwealth platform and on the Olympiad website. Classes are held not only in Russian schools and universities, but also in a number of foreign countries.
