A resident of Shushenskoye was detained 28 years after killing a friend with a tire iron blow to the head

A murder suspect was detained in the Krasnoyarsk Territory committed 28 years ago. The man was found and detained in Norilsk, reports the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Investigative Committee.

In June 1998, a resident of the Shushensky district contacted the police about the disappearance of her 40-year-old son. The man was driving cars from Vladivostok and stopped communicating. Then a criminal case was opened for murder, but for many years it was not possible to find the criminal.

In 2026, operatives and investigators re-examined the case materials, interrogated witnesses and obtained new data. As a result, the identity of a 65-year-old resident of the village of Shushenskoye was identified, who could have been involved in the crime.

Additional information was provided by a psychophysiological examination of his wife – the woman showed reactions indicating awareness of the circumstances of the murder.

Under the weight of evidence, the man confessed to his crime. He said that on that day he and the victim came to the bank of the Yenisei to wash the car for resale. He offered to go into business together, but the suspect refused – he did not want to leave the village. A quarrel ensued, during which the man hit his friend on the head with a tire iron twice. He died on the spot from his injuries. To hide the crime, the killer dumped the body in the Yenisei.

Now the suspect has been chosen as a preventive measure – a written undertaking not to leave the place. The criminal investigation has been resumed.
