
The editors of the Ukrainian culinary website Shuba shared a recipe for cottage cheese spread.
“Homemade cottage cheese spread has a fresh, mild flavor and is ready in 10 minutes. All you need is four basic ingredients to make an easy spread that goes well on bread, toast, vegetables or as a side to main dishes,” the website says.
Ingredients:
- 300 g cottage cheese;
- 2 tbsp. l. sour cream (20%);
- 15 g green onions;
- 1⁄3 tsp. salt;
- ground pepper to taste;
- 1 tsp. lemon juice.
Preparation
- Transfer the cottage cheese to a bowl. If it is too wet, squeeze out excess liquid through cheesecloth. If necessary, blend with a blender until creamy.
- Add sour cream or yogurt. Stir with a spoon until smooth. The consistency should be convenient for spreading.
- Finely chop the onion and add it to the curd mixture.
- Add salt, pepper and lemon juice. Mix thoroughly. Place in the refrigerator for 15–20 minutes.
