Tense situation on the ATM market. As we wrote a few days ago, Euronet decided to limit cash withdrawals from Blik ATMs to PLN 200. This decision will affect, among others: mBank customers who have free withdrawals from PLN 300. According to our information, mBank will encourage customers to use other machines.

As we wrote a few days ago, the Euronet ATM network decided to introduce a strict restriction on transactions made using the Blik code. From next Wednesday, each single operation of this type will be limited to PLN 200. This is an independent decision of the machine operator, which will significantly affect the comfort of using banking services, especially for people who need more cash.
Conflict of limits and commissions
The new rules pose a significant challenge for mBank customers. According to the current price list of this institution, free ATM withdrawals are possible only after reaching the threshold of PLN 300. Euronet's introduction of a limit of PLN 200 means that users who want to avoid additional costs will find themselves in a difficult situation. Any attempt to withdraw cash with Blik in this network will now involve charging a fee, because it will not be technically possible to withdraw a one-time amount that guarantees no commission.
Searching for alternative solutions
According to our information, on Tuesday mBank will send a message to customers encouraging them to start using machines from other operators. The solution to the problem is to choose devices belonging to the Planet Cash network or ATMs of other bank partners. The institution also reminds that these restrictions do not apply to mBank's own machines, even if they are serviced via Euronet. Another method to bypass the limit is to give up the Blik code in favor of a traditional payment card.
In this way, the bank wants to anticipate the entry into force of the new rules and minimize the risk of surprising customers with additional costs during everyday financial operations.
