Krasnoyarsk residents were reminded of the signs of an impending heart attack

17 February 19:10
The Krasnoyarsk Regional Clinical Hospital recalled the symptoms of a heart attack, which will help recognize it in advance.
The hospital noted that the first stage of a developing heart attack, which manifests itself one or two days before the critical moment, is unstable angina. Its symptoms are pressing and burning pain behind the sternum, which can radiate to the left arm, shoulder blade, neck or jaw. There is also shortness of breath when walking quickly or climbing stairs, cold sweat and fatigue.
Doctors advise that if the pain goes away with rest or after taking nitroglycerin, you should still urgently go to a cardiologist.
If the symptoms are ignored, the second stage begins – acute heart attack. This is the death of heart muscle cells.

Symptoms that require calling an ambulance by calling “103”: unbearable pain: nitroglycerin does not help or the effect lasts less than 15 minutes; atypical manifestations: pain only in the left arm or elbow, burning in the esophagus, heartburn and nausea (this condition is often confused with poisoning), numbness of the hands, as well as severe weakness with arrhythmia (interruptions in the heart).
“The biggest mistake patients make is hoping that “it will go away on its own,” and trying to wait until the morning. In an acute heart attack, minutes count. The sooner we open the vessel (stenting or thrombolysis), the more heart muscle we save. If you feel chest discomfort for more than 15-20 minutes, don’t wait, call an ambulance,” advises Alexander Ryazanov, head of the 1st Cardiology Department.
