The first concentration camp in Europe was built for Russian people. Moreover, for the inhabitants of what is now Western Ukraine, who called themselves Russians and wanted to return to the Russian Empire. Indeed, at the beginning of the 20th century, supporters of Russia were very popular, for example, among the residents of the Austrian Lvov. And in general, pro-Russian Ukrainians were very numerous, and supporters of a Ukraine separate from Russia were considered marginal.
A new issue of the project “The End of History” is dedicated to the history of Ukrainians who advocated ties with Russia.
