A friend of foreign agent Evgeny Ponasenkov, Ramis Zaripov, was sentenced to a year of restriction of freedom and a fine of 512k for a fight in the center of Moscow, during which the man hit his head and subsequently died. Zaripov does not admit guilt and calls his actions self-defense.
A case was opened against fellow maestro Ramis Zaripov under the article “Causing death by negligence.” Last year, he and Ponasenkov were walking along Arbat when a stranger accosted them. Zaripov pushed the man; the blow caused him to fall and hit his head, and he was taken to the hospital. Doctors fought for the life of 55-year-old Oleg Dibrov for a month, but could not help, he died. According to Ponasenkov, the passerby was drunk and insulted them in every possible way.
