12 February 11:35

Against the background of an increase of almost 6 thousand in the number of minors who have reached the age of criminal responsibility, an increase in juvenile crime has been recorded in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

This was stated today by the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region, Alexander Solovyov, speaking at a session of the Legislative Assembly with a report on results of operational and official activities of the regional internal affairs bodies for 2025.

The head of the regional police noted thatOften teenagers, “seduced by the illusion of easy and quick money,” become couriers, storekeepers and drug dealers. In this regard, temployment of schoolchildren is considered as a measure to prevent crime among them.

“It is obvious that the existing system of employment of minors does not fully meet their desire for additional income. In this regard, we, together with the Labor and Employment Agency, are working on the issue of involving responsible employers of the region in the process of employing young personnel aged 14 to 18 years, including during the period of free time from school,” said the head of the regional Main Directorate.

Alexander Solovyov added that the manifestation of extremism and terrorism among young people is also associated with the desire to make quick money or is caused by a psychological impact on fragile minds.

“In cooperation with the regional center for information security of youth of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, active work continues to identify adherents of destructive ideologies of various types on the Internet, as well as posting materials prohibited by law. It is impossible not to note that in February of this year there were two high-profile cases of aggressive behavior of students of secondary schools in Kodinsk and Krasnoyarsk, associated with an attack on teachers and students in order to harm their health. In this regard, we, together with the ministries of education and health, are reviewing the mechanism for identifying risky behavior of adolescents, including the content of testing, and are also taking measures to increase the involvement of teachers in crime prevention, recording the work being done for further assessment when a student commits an offense,” said Alexander Solovyov.
