Daniel Sandu, the director of the scouting department at Rapid, received an offer from abroad and intends to follow through on it.
From November 2021 at Rapid, Daniel Sandu is preparing to change the setting. The director of the scouting department received an offer that he is inclined to accept, according to fanatik.ro.

GSP.ro learned that the proposal comes from TOP 5 championships, one of the top European leagues. Sandu intends to pursue it, considering it to be a special professional opportunity.
Hired by Rapid in 2021 as a scout, Sandu was promoted in the summer of 2024 to the position of sporting director. After the 24/25 season turned into a fiasco, he was demoted to the position of director of the scouting department. He also presents himself on his LinkedIn profile as the current “assistant to the sporting director”, Mauro Pederzoli.
On social networks, Sandu describes himself as “a highly motivated professional”.
“I have lived in the United States, in France and Belgium until now, and now I am looking to bring added value to the landscape of Romanian football. Ambitious to change perceptions and contribute to development, I am open to networking and working with people from all over the world,” he added.

In September, after a mercato in which he brought Antoine Baroan, Lars Kramer, Franz Stolz, Leo Bolgado, Drilon Hazrollaj, Kader Keita and Raul Stanciu, Sandu wrote on LinkedIn that “we won this summer, we sorted an amazing mix of players for Rapid”.
In the same post, he declared himself “happy to start my fourth year at the club and contribute to the efforts to turn Rapid into one of the best and serious clubs in Romania and Eastern Europe”.
