Trump wrote on his Truth Social social media platform that Netanyahu's associates also attended the White House meeting. He said it was “a very good meeting” and called the relations between the two countries “amazing.”

“Nothing was finally agreed except that I insisted that negotiations with Iran continue to see whether an agreement could be finalized or not,” he said.

He stressed that reaching an agreement would be a priority. “If we can't achieve that, we'll have to see what the outcome will be,” Trump stressed.

He wrote that “the last time Iran decided it would be better off not making a deal and got hit by the Midnight Hammer, it didn't work out for them.” He referred in this way to the codename of the operation of the American forces that carried out an attack on Iranian nuclear installations last summer.

“Let's hope that this time they will be more reasonable and responsible,” the president said.

He said that he and Netanyahu also talked about the “incredible progress” regarding the situation in the Gaza Strip and the region. “There is truly PEACE in the Middle East,” he concluded.

Trump's meeting with Netanyahu took place behind closed doors. Before the conversation with the American president, Netanyahu met with US Secretary of State Mark Rubio and signed documents on Israel's accession to the international organization founded by Trump – the Peace Council.

Netanyahu's visit is his eighth in Trump's second term. Its deadline was advanced by a week against the background of ongoing talks between the US and Iran on the Iranian nuclear program. According to Israeli media reports, the Prime Minister is pushing for any new agreement to also include restrictions on Iran's ballistic missile program and the support Iran provides to terrorist groups in the Middle East recognized by the US. Iran, in turn, has so far ruled out a broader agreement, wanting to negotiate only the issue of its nuclear program.

President Trump told Axios on Tuesday that he is considering sending a second aircraft carrier strike group to the Middle East to prepare for military action if negotiations with Iran collapse.
