Secretary of Commerce visited Jeffrey Epstein's island. “We had no relationship”

Howard Lutnick spoke about his visit to Jeffrey Epstein's island during a meeting of the Senate Budget Committee. When asked whether – as the e-mail correspondence indicates – he visited the American financier's private island in the Virgin Islands in 2012, the secretary of the US Department of Commerce confirmed that he had been there.

The politician indicated that they met with Jeffrey Epstein for an hour-long lunch, where his children and wife and another couple were present. — I met Jeffrey Epstein when I moved into the house next door to his in New York. And then I met him twice more for the next 14 years, and then not once for six years,” Howard Lutnick said.

— Out of these millions of documents, maybe 10 emails connect me with him. So for 14 years I had no relationship with him. I barely had anything to do with him, he noted.

However, documents published by the Ministry of Justice indicate that the two men may have had a close relationship. At least several members of the US Congress have so far called on Howard Lutnick to resign from office due to his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
