In Krasnoyarsk, a criminal investigation has been completed against a local resident accused of a series of thefts from a retail outlet selling mobile phones in one of the city’s shopping centers.
The crimes were committed in October 2025 and were caught on surveillance camera. TOWhen the shopping center was already open and the telephone department was still closed, an attacker broke the lock on the display window and stole a gadget worth 75,500 rubles. A few days later, he came there again at the same time, opened the same display case in a similar way and took three more phones for a total of 93,000 rubles.

Injured owner of the outlet for the sale of mobile phones contacted the police, whose officers identified the suspect and detained him. He turned out to be a 34-year-old Krasnoyarsk resident, who had previously been prosecuted for committing property crimes. A criminal case was opened against the man under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft” and chose a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the place.
“During the investigation, it turned out that he handed over the stolen mobile phones to a thrift store. Thanks to the prompt actions of the police, all property was found and returned to its rightful owner. Currently, the criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to the Sovetsky District Court for consideration on the merits. The maximum penalty provided for under the article is up to 5 years in prison,” said the Krasnoyarsk Municipal Internal Affairs Ministry.
