Rangers players allegedly used hotel rooms booked by the club for physiotherapy sessions to have sex with prostitutes.
The sex scandal reportedly erupted when an angry wife discovered her Rangers footballer husband was playing “away”. According to tabloid The Scottish Sun, the wife of the said “exploded” when she found out about her partner's infidelity and then contacted the management of the club to denounce the situation.
It is unclear how many players were involved and how long the practice had been operating
Following an internal investigation, a member of the team of physical therapists was suspended, but it is still unclear how many stars were involved or how long the practice had been operating. For now, there is only talk of “a small number of players who used hotel rooms in England that were reserved for treatment sessions to sleep with prostitutes.”
A club source told The Scottish Sun that the scandal that broke out just before Christmas “has caused a huge storm at Ibrox. Apparently some rooms were reserved under the umbrella of the physiotherapy department, but obviously some players took advantage of this arrangement. At least one used hotel was in London.
A member of the medical staff has been suspended by Rangers
When the wife of one of the players found out about her husband's infidelity, she went to management and demanded that something be done. And after an investigation at the club's medical department, one of the staff members was basically told that he would be suspended”.
Another inside source claims that “there is anger within the club as a senior member of staff is being punished for the actions of the players. He appears to be the villain, while the players avoided punishment“.
Rangers refuse to comment on 'some speculation'
The aftermath of the scandal “was a hot topic of conversation on WhatsApp groups of players and staff. It is not known if the footballers involved received any physiotherapy during their trips to the hotel”. Another source added: “It's been known for a few weeks. The players, wives and staff all talked about it in separate groups“.
Rangers' response to a request from reporters from The Scottish Sun: “We will not comment on speculation. We can only confirm that there have been no internal investigations at the club.” The suspended employee declined to comment when contacted by reporters.
