Orlen “cleans” its balance sheet before its results. PLN 2.5 billion of the write-off will affect profit

Orlen expects that in the results for the fourth quarter of 2025, it will make a write-down on assets with a total amount of PLN 2.5 billion and it will mainly concern the Nowa Chemia investment in the downstream segment – the company said in a press release. Write-offs are non-cash and have no direct connection with cash flows from operating activities.


“As a result of the tests carried out, the Company anticipates that in the consolidated financial statements for the fourth quarter of 2025 it will make a write-down on the value of assets in the total amount of PLN 2.5 billion. The write-off mainly concerns the Nowa Chemia investment in the Downstream Segment in the amount of PLN 2.2 billion. In addition, the Company will make a write-down on the value of international mining assets in the Upstream_Supply segment in the total amount of PLN 0.3 billion,” the company wrote.
Orlen stipulated that decisions on this matter may change in the final version of the consolidated financial statements for the fourth quarter of 2025, which will be published on February 19, 2026.
“At the same time, the company informs that analyzes of the value of the remaining assets of the ORLEN Group are ongoing. If impairment losses or reversals of impairment losses are probable, significantly affecting the financial data for 2025, the Company will provide such information in a current report,” the company wrote.
