Arrest for Zbigniew Ziobro. There is a court decision


Information about arrest For Zbigniew Ziobro confirmed by the prosecutor's office. “Today, the court accepted the prosecutor's request of November 13, 2025 and applied a preventive measure to the suspect Zbigniew Z. in the form of pre-trial detention for a period of three months,” reads the statement of the National Prosecutor's Office.
The decision was made after the third, all-day meeting regarding the request of the National Prosecutor's Office to arrest Zbigniew Ziobro. Ziobro's defense attorney announced that this decision would be appealed to the District Court in Warsaw.
On Thursday, Ziobro's defense submitted numerous formal motions. Before 15, however, the court has already started substantive examination of the prosecutor's office's application.

“The court confirmed that the evidence collected during the investigation indicates a high probability that the suspect Zbigniew Z. committed 26 crimes, including founding and leading an organized criminal group and complicity in the misappropriation of funds from the Justice Fund,” reads the prosecutor's statement.

According to the prosecutor's office, when he was the head of the Ministry of Justice, he committed a total of 26 crimesamong others give orders to his subordinates to break the law in order to provide selected entities with subsidies from the Justice Fund, interfere in the preparation of competition offers and allow funds to be awarded to unauthorized entities.
In the request for temporary arrest submitted to the court in mid-November 2025, the prosecutor's office indicated, among others: to the real risk of the former minister's flight, hiding and procedural fraud.

Currently, since December last year, Ziobro has been under international protection by the Hungarian authorities, who concluded that he was at risk of political persecution.
Proc. Piotr Woźniak, who heads the investigation into abuses at the Justice Fund, announced on Thursday the initiation of a search for Zbigniew Ziobro on the basis of an arrest warrant and EAW.
— The next stage will be the implementation of a search for the suspect using an arrest warrant and a European arrest warrant, announced Prosecutor Woźniak.
He also informed that an arrest warrant for Ziobro will most likely be prepared on Friday after receiving the court files, while the application for a European arrest warrant (EAW) is to be submitted to the district court at the beginning of next week.
