“The delegation was received very cordially, with fanfare, with anthems and everything that an official setting entails. It was very nice. Of course, I was part of the Israeli delegation, from the Israeli commission. I sat at the table with Mr. Grindeanu and several members of the Romanian Parliament, as well as with the Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete.

Each of the members of the Romanian Parliament expressed certain opinions about the relations between Israel and Romania. The atmosphere was very warm, very kind and friendly. From here, we all went to a meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu.

I organized this meeting, which for me was very important. Although Mr. Netanyahu was extremely busy, with delegations from America and sensitive topics related to Iran on his agenda, the meeting was formidableHerman Berkovits, a physician and friend of Benjamin Netanyahu, told DC News.

The doctor stated that there are visits to the Memorial of the Victims of the Holocaust (Yad Vashem), to the church, meetings with the president of the country and also meetings with Minister Rogobete.

“In the next few days there will be extremely important meetings. I have helped to organize meetings at several important hospitals in Israel, with insurance associations and with the Israeli Minister of Health. It is an intense program, very rich and very warm,” said Herman Berkovits.

Berkovits, about the meeting with Netanyahu

Berkovits also spoke about the timing of the meeting with the Prime Minister of Israel, which took place, according to him, “in a tense international context”.

“I was right next to the prime minister. Netanyahu always says that he loves Romania through me, because I constantly talk to him about Romania. And now he has shown this love for Romania, including by thanking Romania for the support it gives us internationally. Romania is always on our side.

Mr. Sorin Grindeanu was prime minister in 2017, and I then, in a very short time, organized a meeting with Mr. Netanyahu in Israel. The two have known each other for almost nine years and already had a common denominator. The conversation was quick, natural and very nice.

A behind-the-scenes detail is that in the next room, the American delegation was already waiting for «Bibi», and yet the Prime Minister continued the whole meeting with us in an extremely elegant way, until the scheduled end, without getting up, although he knew that the Americans were waiting for him. This detail says a lot”said Herman Berkovits.

Herman Berkovits talks about his deep love for Romania, the country where he was born, went to high school and college in Cluj, and where he founded his family. He emphasizes his personal and cultural ties with Romania, his wife is also Romanian, they have children born here, they have close friends and often participate in cultural events.
