The two Romanian teams qualified for the quarter-finals of the CEV Cup, Volei Alba Blaj and CSO Voluntari, will fight for a place in the penultimate act of the competition, the round match to be played on February 19 in Blaj, and the return leg in Bucharest, probably on February 25.

Two teams from Romania reached the quarter-finals of the CEV Cup, the second European competition in terms of value. They did so on different routes, and now they will face each other for qualification in the semi-finals.

According to the regulations of the European federation, the teams ranked 3rd in the groups of the Champions League, except for the most valuable, go to the “quarters” of the CEV Cup.

CSO Voluntari, solid route to the “quarters” of the CEV Cup

The two Romanian teams will preface the European duel with one in the semifinals of the Romanian Cup (February 11 in Bucharest, March 4 in Blaj).

As for Alba, she has already played three finals in the CEV Cup, all of which she lost to famous opponents: in 2019 with Yamamay Busto Arsizio (0-3, 1-3), in 2023 with Savino del Bene Scandicci (1-3, 0-3) and last year with Igor Grogonzola Novara (1-3, 0-3), all Italian teams.
