The Earth will have a “second moon”
Asteroid 2024 PT5, moving towards Earth, will linger for two months and become a kind of “mini-Moon”. These are the conclusions reached by Spanish astronomers who published their research in the journal Research Notes of the AAS.
The new satellite will be under Earth's gravitational influence for almost 57 days.
The astronomical phenomenon will begin on September 29, 2024, and then, on November 25, the asteroid will leave the Earth's gravitational field.
