A new nuclear power plant in Great Britain will be built from the steel of Ukrainian Metinvest
The British plant of Metinvest Spartan UK will supply 1,600 tons of steel sheets for the construction of the Sizewell C nuclear power plant in Suffolk. This is one of the largest energy projects of Great Britain in recent decades.
Sizewell C will provide clean energy for up to 6 million homes and create 10,000 jobs at peak construction. The project will be the largest state investment in clean energy of the 21st century
The first batch of 800 tons will be shipped already in August, the rest in the third quarter of 2025.
Rinat Akhmetov's Metinvest is known for its participation in iconic global projects: The Shard in London, The Shed in New York, the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant sarcophagus, the glass pedestrian bridge in Kyiv and the world's largest sailing liner Flying Clipper.
