Crystal Palace have completed the most expensive transfer in the club's history, bringing in Norwegian striker Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Londoners paid £48m, equivalent to around €55.6m, for the 25-year-old, who signed a four-and-a-half-year deal.
The transfer fee is composed of 49.9 million euros fixed amount and 5.8 million euros in the form of bonuses.
A modest season in the Premier League

The only notable attacking performance came in the FA Cup, where Larsen scored a hat-trick in the 2nd round in a 6–1 win against League Four side Shrewsbury. It's a stark contrast to last season, when Strand Larsen had solid numbers, managing to score 14 goals in 35 Premier League games.
Strand Larsen's statement at the official presentation
At the official presentation, the Norwegian was excited about the new step:
“I'm really excited to come to Crystal Palace. It's something I've wanted for a long time. I'm here to bring energy, goals and help the team as much as I can,” said the striker, according to The Guardian.
Over 100 million euros spent in one month
Crystal Palace were extremely active in the transfer market during this period and “reached into their pockets” to strengthen the squad. The Londoners acquired Brennan Johnson from Tottenham for 40.6 million euros, and they brought Jorgen Strand Larsen for 55.6 million euros. In addition, the club are in advanced negotiations for Everton's Dwight McNeil, a move that would take the form of a loan with an obligation to buy worth €23.2m.
Thus, the total expenses in this period exceed the threshold of 100 million euros.
