Sorana Cîrstea shines at the Transylvania Open. And Emma Răducanu goes further

The British of Romanian origin Emma Răducanu and the Romanian Sorana Cîrstea debuted with victories, on Monday, in the first round of the Transylvania Open (WTA 250) tennis tournament, endowed with total prizes of 283,347 dollars and hosted by BTarena in Cluj-Napoca.
Răducanu, the main favorite, got past the Belgian Greet Minnen, 6-0, 6-4, and in the round of 16 she will face the Slovenian Kaja Juvan.
Cîrstea (35 years, 36 WTA), the third favorite, passed Kamila Rahimova (24 years, 71 WTA), 6-4, 6-4, after being led in the second set 4-2.

Sorana Cîrstea is now 3-0 in direct matches with Rahimova, whom she defeated in 2022, in the first round in Istanbul, 6-4, 6-1, and last month, in the second round of the qualifiers in Adelaide, 7-6 (7/5), 6-3.
The Romanian secured a check for 4,600 dollars and 30 WTA points, and in the round of 16 she will face the Slovenian Tamara Zidansek.
