The “Dogs” player says that concrete discussions will take place after the end of the mercato period and that his decision will not depend on the immediate performances of the team.
– For your contract, have there started to be extension discussions?
– I still have a year and a half left on my contract here, at Dinamo. I talked a bit with Cosmin and Andrei in the training camp, but there is time, there is no rush. There is no pressure to extend my contract in the next few days. Of course we will have discussions after the end of the mercato and we will see where these discussions will go.
– Are you waiting to see what happens until the summer?
– No, I mean my extension has nothing to do with whether we win the championship, whether we qualify for Europe or the Conference League. In the end, I don't rely on this, I rely on what I found here, at Dinamo, on the fact that I feel very appreciated here and there is no question about these things, to extend my contract only if we qualify.

– But do you have plans for the future? A championship from abroad?
– Naturally, I have plans, like every player, but at the moment my plans are to do the job as well as possible here and to win the Romanian Cup, to win the championship, to fight for the European cups. After that, in the summer, we'll see where we stand and what both my future and our future will hold.
– What is your favorite foreign championship?
– I think the Premier League.
Raul Opruț, about the Romanian national team: “It would be more than a dream come true”
– What would it mean for you to win the title with Dinamo and reach the World Cup with Romania?
Now it's hard to find my words. It would mean more than I would have dreamed of when I was a little kid kicking the ball around the streets of my village. It would mean everything, after all, especially since we have a World Cup every four years. I haven't been to the World Championship in a very long time and I think it would make a whole country happy.
– What message do you have for Dinamo fans who dream of the title and who come and support you?
– To continue to support us, as they have done so far. Let him be by our side, regardless of the results, because there will be better days, for sure. But apart from that, I want to thank them for their support, both away and at home. And we expect as many as possible, either at the Arc or at the National Arena, because their support matters a lot. And we feel when a lot of fans come that we also have the 12th player on the field.
