“Let us know if anything more needs to be done,” Musk added in a social media post.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said Thursday that Ukraine is working with SpaceX to stop Russia from directing drones using the Starlink internet system after Kiev said it detected it in long-range drones used in Russian attacks.

“Western technology must continue to serve the democratic world and protect civilians, and not be used for terrorism and the destruction of peaceful cities,” said Fedorov on “X”, whose entry is quoted by Reuters.
Despite differences between Musk and Ukrainian officials over his views on war with Russia, the Ukrainian armed forces still rely on tens of thousands of Starlink devices to communicate on the battlefield and pilot some drone missions.

As Polish Radio reminds, in mid-January the German daily “Der Spiegel” found that the Russian military is increasingly using Starlink systems during drone attacks on Ukraine. The media reports were confirmed by Ukrainian military intelligence.
The devices are to be used especially during attacks on civilian infrastructure, which significantly increases the effectiveness of Russian attacks. According to experts from the American Institute for the Study of War, thanks to Starlinks, Russians can control drones more precisely even in difficult electronic warfare conditions. The head of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski, also drew attention to the problem, appealing to Elon Musk.
Starlink has expanded Musk's geopolitical influence. In 2022, it took control of how and where Starlink is used by Ukrainian troops fighting Russian forces.
