The Thessaloniki team returned to the field a few days after the road accident that took place on January 27, on the European road E70, near the town of Lugojel, in which seven Greek PAOK fans died.
On Sunday, PAOK defeated Panserraikos at home, score 4-1, in the 19th round of the Greek championship. Before the game, several emotional moments took place at the “Toumba” stadium.

A few minutes before the start of the game, more than 20,000 spectators present at the “Toumba” stadium created an impressive atmosphere. Torches were lit and the stadium was engulfed in smoke and light in a tribute to the seven missing supporters. Fans held moments of silence.
Răzvan Lucescu was visibly marked. At the end, he went to the gallery, where he greeted the fans and received applause.
On the field, PAOK solved the problem equation from the first half. Besides, all the successes came then. Jeremejeff opened the scoring in the 5th minute, and 3 minutes later Despodov doubled the advantage of the Romanian team, from the Swede's pass.
Panserraikos, where Andrei Ivan was an unused substitute, reduced the gap in the 12th minute, but only hoped for 7 minutes. Pelkas made it 3-1 for PAOK in the 19th minute and Vogliacco would set up the final score in the 26th minute.
PAOK also scored in the end through Chatsidis (90'), but the success was canceled due to a handball. It ended 4-1 for PAOK, a team that climbs to first place, at least temporarily, with 44 points after 18 stages.
