❗️In Russia, work has begun on a list of films “recommended by the Ministry of Education for family viewing” – “Kommersant”
A draft version of such a list was presented at the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation – 191 films, of which 181 were shot in the USSR. The discussion participants explained this choice by the fact that Modern Russian films are made according to “American patterns”.
At the same time, representatives of the Ministry of Culture note that many classic Soviet films are formally prohibited from being shown to children due to the age limit of 18+. The list includes 1985's Come And See, among others.
Contemporary films on the list include: “In August ’44” (2001), “72 Meters” (2004), “Scarves” (2007), “Taras Bulba” (2009), “Legend No. 17” (2013), “Panfilov’s 28” (2016), “The Box” (2016), “Podolsk Cadets” (2020), “Nakhimovtsy” (2022) and “Russian Revolt” (1999).
