AC Milan captain Mike Maignan has officially signed a new long-term contract with the Italian club. The previous deal would have expired in the summer and the new contract runs until June 2031. The Frenchman has received a significant pay rise, which will now total €7m per season.
Thus, Maignan will stay at the Milanese giant, even though he had agreed with Chelsea in the summer, but the club blocked his transfer.
Mike Maignan has extended his contract with AC Milan
This season, the goalkeeper is among the best players of the Rossoneri, managing to keep a clean sheet in 11 of the 25 matches played. He scored 20 goals.
Mike Maignan defends the goal of AC Milan from 2021. The Frenchman trained at PSG's academy, made the step to the seniors for the Parisians, and after 2 years was sold for one million euros to Lille. After 6 years, he was transferred to AC Milan for the sum of 16.4 million euros, and since then he has imposed himself in the goal of the Rossoneri.
The goalkeeper, who recorded a total of 188 matches with 70 clean sheets and 190 goals, won Serie A in the 2021-22 season. In addition to his role with the club team, Maignan is also the starting goalkeeper for France, for whom he has made 37 appearances.
