The costs of the foreign trips of the minister and subordinate employees have been published by the Ministry of Investments and European Funds, announced Minister Dragoș Pîslaru, in a post on Facebook, stating that it is a first for the Government.
The information published on the MIPE website includes both the travel expenses of Minister Dragoș Pîslaru and those of his predecessors in the last five years.
“We are the first ministry to take this initiative because only through transparency can we rebuild the relationship of trust between institutions and citizens”, writes Dragoș Pîslaru.
He claims that there are differences in this chapter between his mandate and that of his predecessors:
- “the minister's travel costs are now 6 times lower than before;
- in almost all cases we used economy flights and low-cost companies;
- I kept “delegations” to a minimum — I was accompanied only when the situation demanded it;
- there were circumstances when I paid for part of the flights myself.”
The minister promises to update the data during his term. “It's easy to be transparent when you have absolutely nothing to hide,” writes Pîslaru.
Since the beginning of his mandate, in June 2025, the foreign travel expenses of Minister Dragoș Pîslaru and his MIPE subordinates have amounted to slightly more than 21,000 euros.
