Tal Berkovich, former contestant from the 2025 season of “Knives Chefs” and the “golden knife” of chef Ștefan Popescu, died at the age of 41, following a road accident that occurred on Thursday in her native country, Israel, reports The Jerusalem Post.

Actress Tal Berkovich, Israeli with Romanian origins, was visiting her family in Israel. She was walking with her brother, Gil, on the way to their mother, who was celebrating her birthday, when the car they were in collided violently with a truck, on the outskirts of Telalim, according to the cited source.

The former Knives Season 16 contestant has died, while her brother is in critical condition at Soroka Medical Center.

Berkovich was born in Kiryat Tivon, northern Israel, into a family with Romanian roots. She studied acting and theater in London and after graduation moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. Her passion for gastronomy led her to another scene.

Tal impressed the jury of the “Chefi la cuțite” show, winning the golden knife of chef Ștefan Popescu. Tal was supported in the show by her friend, Alina Pușcau, notes Observator News.
