What are the biggest wishes of Romanians for 2026

Increasing incomes, creating jobs and ending the war in Ukraine are among the top expectations of Romanians for 2026, according to the Informat.ro BAROMETER – INSCOP Research, 7th edition, conducted between January 12-15.

Asked what is the most important thing they would like to see achieved in 2026, 15.6% of respondents mention the increase in income, 15.6% the creation of jobs, and 15% the end of the war in Ukraine.
They choose stabilizing prices and reducing inflation – 14.7%, fighting corruption – 14.5%, and improving the health system – 10.3%. 7.7% indicates the improvement of the education system, 1.6% the increase of safety and public order, and 0.7% the protection of the environment and the fight against climate change. 4.2% do not know or do not answer.
He mentions the increase in the income of the population in particular: AUR voters, people with primary education, residents of small towns.
The creation of jobs is indicated especially by: AUR voters, young people under 30, people with primary education, small urban and rural residents.
PSD and PNL voters, respectively people over 60, choose in a higher proportion than the rest of the population to end the war with Ukraine. Especially PNL and USR voters, people with higher education and residents of Bucharest and the larger urban areas mention fighting corruption as a priority for the year 2026.
The data were collected between January 12-15, 2026, through the CATI method (telephone interviews). The research method was interview through the questionnaire. The volume of the simple, stratified sample was 1100 people, representative of the significant socio-demographic categories (sex, age, occupation) for the non-institutionalized population of Romania, aged 18 and over. The maximum allowable error of the data is ± 3% at a confidence level of 95%.
