A former Czechoslovak intelligence officer linked to the Soviet KGB organized a foreign business trip for Aron Orban, the younger brother of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, during which he examined the possibilities of purchasing weapons in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the Hungarian portal 444 reported on Tuesday.

The trip took place about six years ago, and during it the brother of the Hungarian Prime Minister visited arms and ammunition producers and held talks on the possible purchase of weapons. The trip was organized by former Czechoslovak spy Mikuláš Nadaši, who is associated with working for the KGB and the intelligence services of the German Democratic Republic.

Nadaszi then married a Hungarian citizen and settled in the Hungarian town of Szolnok, where – as the portal reported – he was often visited by representatives of the Hungarian secret services.

Portal 444 wrote that Aron Orban openly informed his potential business partners about his brother's position in Hungaryat the same time demonstrating – as the Hungarian media emphasized – a gross lack of basic knowledge about the arms trade.

The younger brother of the Hungarian prime minister became the president of the arms trading company Multi Shoot at the end of 2022. The company asked Nadashi to use his contacts to facilitate wholesale purchases of weapons from Slovak and Czech manufacturers.

Ultimately, Orban and Nadashi's joint trip did not lead to any deals. The Hungarian Armed Forces have confirmed that Multi Shoot has not made any weapons purchases on their behalf in the last six and a half years, Hungarian media reported.
