Oțelul Galati sells its captain! The Portuguese Joao Lameira (26 years old) is to be sold in Poland, to Wieczysta Krakow, the 6th place in the second league in Poland. The Superliga club will collect 400,000 euros.

The move would be made official in the following days, according to fanatik.ro. This announcement comes just one day after the match between Oțelul Galați and Csikszereda (3-0), a match in the 23rd stage of the Superliga, Lameira being a full-time player.

Wieczysta Krakow is the same team that transferred striker Paulinho from Oțelul earlier this year.

Joao Lameira leaves Oțelul Galati

In the play-off position, 6th place, Oțelul Galati is about to part with one of the team's most important players, Joao Lameira. Laszlo Balint's team would receive €400,000 in exchange for the Portuguese and will also keep 25% of a future transfer. The move has not been officially completed, but it is unlikely that Oțelul's coach will rely on his services in the match against FC Botoșani.

Located in the second league in Poland, Wieczysta Krakow is the team that transferred Paulinho from Oțelul Galati, in exchange for which the Poles paid 200,000 euros and kept the same percentage.

Lameira's numbers this season:

  • 20 matches, 3 goals and 2 decisive assists were collected by the midfielder at Oțelul Galati

  • 900,000 euros is Joao Lameira's share, according to Transfermarkt

The Portuguese arrived in Galați in the winter of 2024. The team transferred him from Baltika, a team from Russia. In the 75 games played in the Galatasaray jersey, Lameira scored 5 times and provided two decisive assists.
