As soon as snow falls, this is a signal for mice. In search of warmth and food, they rush to country houses, where supplies, comfort and complete impunity await them. But there is a cheap and effective way to stop them – and this will help regular table vinegar (9%).
Why is this important?
Over the winter, mice can:
- eat supplies in the cellar,
- chew through the wiring (risk of fire!),
- make nests in furniture,
- leave droppings and a lasting “aroma”.
It is better to prevent a problem than to clean up the consequences in the spring.
How does vinegar work?
Mice have a keen sense of smell – and this is precisely their weakness. The pungent smell of vinegar acts as a powerful repellent: rodents simply avoid such a house.
How to use:
- Pour 2-3 liters of vinegar into small containers: saucers, lids, glasses.
- Place them in all risk areas:
– cellar, basement, kitchen,
– corners, under furniture, behind cabinets. - Additionally, you can wipe the shelves in the cellar or lightly spray the walls with a spray bottle.
Advantages:
- Cheap and accessible
- Safe – no poison, leaves no traces
- Effective when used correctly
Important:
- When working with vinegar, wear a mask and goggles – the vapors are caustic.
- In spring, thoroughly ventilate the house: open all windows for several hours.
Taking 15 minutes in the fall will give you a clean, intact, and season-ready home—mouse-free, odor-free, and stress-free.
