A 37-year-old Romanian was detained by the rapid intervention forces, after he boarded a train in an Austrian station using an emergency hammer and tried to leave with it, but failed to start it. Arriving in the driver's cabin, the Romanian broke several windows, caused damage and activated the light and sound signal of the set, thus alerting the railway authorities. Caught and taken to the Police, he refused to deny his identity and even hit and injured a policewoman. Finally, the man was at the penitentiary in St. Pölten, the Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung informs on Monday, quoted by News.ro.

According to Kronen Zeitung, on the night of Sunday to Monday, in the St. Valentin in the Amstetten district of Lower Austria, an unusual incident took place when a 37-year-old man tried to start a stationary train.

A little before 4 o'clock in the morning, the police were called to the station, after the ÖBB emergency coordinator raised the alarm. A man had entered a stationary train a short time before using an emergency hammer, intending to put it into operation and leave with it, states the quoted source.

According to the Austrian publication, the man even managed to get into the driver's cabin, causing significant material damage, including breaking several windows. However, the man failed to start the train, but instead activated the light and the sound signal, which most likely led to his discovery, the publication notes.

Taken to the Police, the man refused to cooperate with the law enforcement officers and decline his identity, and the situation became tense. While trying to take his fingerprints, a policewoman was suddenly grabbed by the hair and neck and knocked to the ground, needing to be transported to the hospital due to her injuries. Also, a colleague of the police officer was slightly injured while trying to help her, the same source states.

Finally, it was established that the man was a 37-year-old Romanian, who was taken by the rapid intervention forces to the penitentiary in St. Pölten, the publication also shows.
