The court arrested for two months a student from Surgut suspected of fraud. The girl was found in a rented apartment along with a 14-year-old teenagerwho was allegedly kidnapped. The details of the case are reported by the prosecutor's office.

Let us remind you that on January 22, the guy left home in the Serebryany Bor cottage village in an unknown direction with an unidentified person. At the same time, 3 million rubles disappeared from the house. Late in the evening of the same day, the boy’s father received a message in the messenger about the kidnapping of his son with a ransom demand of 30 million rubles for his return, as well as a video message from the boy himself about the need to fulfill the ultimatum.

The next day, the teenager was found in a rented apartment with a girl, an 18-year-old student from Surgut. As it turned out, the attackers convinced the young Krasnoyarsk resident that they were helping his family, and found out from him that large sums were kept at home. They then suggested that the teenager give the money to an “intermediary.”

A resident of Surgut arrived in Krasnoyarsk on January 21. The next day, on instructions from the swindlers, she met with a teenager. Using a circular saw and a sledgehammer, she opened home safes and stole cash in rubles, dollars and euros worth at least 2.5 million rubles. The girl kept part of the money (31 thousand rubles) for herself, and gave the rest to an unknown man near the Sever restaurant on Lenin Street.

It later turned out that unknown people had rented the apartment for the girl and the schoolboy. There they had to hide and wait for further instructions from the scammers. During the interrogation, the guest from Surgut insisted that she herself had become a victim of deception. According to the girl, she was intimidated by being informed that her account on State Services had been hacked. The boy also said that unknown people threatened him and his brother.

“In court, the prosecutor insisted on taking her into custody, since the suspect does not have housing in Krasnoyarsk, as well as an identity document, and can hide, destroy evidence or influence witnesses,” the department’s press service reports.

The court agreed with this position and took the girl into custody until March 23, 2026. A criminal case has been opened against her for fraud, and she faces up to 10 years in prison. Law enforcement agencies continue to search for the organizers of the crime and the stolen money.
