The Confederation wants to involve supporters and people close to their community in working on the election program. This is the goal of the Projekt27 initiative, MP Przemysław Wipler told PAP. He emphasized that the party intends to be ready to efficiently implement a number of reforms when they form a future government.

On Thursday, Sławomir Mentzen, the leader of the Confederation and the president of New Hope, which co-founded it, announced the launch of the Projekt27 initiative on social media. In a recording published on YouTube, he emphasized that the idea behind the project was to be open to ideas and proposals from party supporters. Below the material, he included a link to a website where Internet users can post and evaluate proposals that may become part of the Confederation's electoral program in the future.

– I invite each of you to participate in this project, to submit ideas, comment on ideas, evaluate ideas, to come forward as experts, because Projekt27 is also a platform for experts – said Mentzen. – I often say that we are a party different from others, that we have to think differently, we have to do things differently (…). And with this idea that we have to do things differently than everyone else, I also thought that we would construct the election program differently than everyone else, he emphasized.

The Confederation wants to engage its supporters

Confederation MP and member of New Hope Przemysław Wipler, asked by PAP about the reasons for creating Project27, said that it is an initiative aimed at dynamizing the process of work on the Confederation's program solutions, which has been ongoing for many months. He added that in order to achieve this goal, the Confederation wants to involve its supporters and people close to the group's environment in this process. He emphasized that the name of the initiative itself indicates that the Confederation's intention is to construct a reform program in Poland, which would be implemented in 2027, i.e. after the next parliamentary elections.

We assume that after the elections it is very likely that it will be impossible to build a government without the Confederation and we will be key to its creation.. We want to have a few hundred, maybe more, specifics that we really want to implement. Not like Donald Tusk's one hundred specifics for the first hundred days of the government, a dozen or so of which were implemented – noted Wipler. He added that “it's not about campaign ideas, but about specifics that we would like to implement after joining the government.”

The MP emphasized that although Sławomir Mentzen is the leader of the initiative, work under Project27 is coordinated by politicians of the two groups that make up the Confederation, i.e. New Hope and the National Movement. These are: MEP Anna Bryłka (RN), deputy heads of the parliamentary club Konfederacja MP Witold Tumanowicz (RN) and Michał Wawer (RN) and the head of the club Grzegorz Płaczek (NN).

The Confederation wants to be ready “blitzkrieg”

Wipler added that politicians from both parties co-creating the formation will participate in the process of including a given idea into the Confederation's program. – In a situation in which we will be comfortable as New Hope, the second step is to agree on whether our colleagues from the National Movement are comfortable with a given specific idea. Then it will become our common specification that we will want to put on the table to the parties and entities with which we will negotiate a joint coalition agreement – he explained.

– So, specifics – specifics translated into draft laws, into draft regulations. We will be ready not to speculate, not to “slide around”, but to make as many changes as possible as part of such a “blitzkrieg” during the first hundred days of government, he emphasized.

When asked whether a potential final court decision to remove New Hope from the register of political parties could affect the work under Project27, Wipler noted that these were “completely independent” matters. – I am willing to bet that there will be no decisions regarding the final removal of New Hope – he said.

Among the politicians of the National Movement, he invited, among others, to cooperate within the initiative: Witold Tumanowicz, responsible for reform proposals in the area of ”elections and political parties”. “Electoral law should be a tool in the hands of citizens, not a mechanism for consolidating political arrangements. Its task is to protect the sovereignty of the nation and the real influence of citizens on the government. If you have ideas, experience or want to get involved in the work on the reform of electoral law – I invite you to cooperate,” wrote the MP on Platform X. (PAP)
