It is reported that a war crime was committed by a Russian occupier from the 155th separate brigade of the Russian Pacific Fleet, Sergei Skobelev.

In October 2024, as the leader of the assault group, he received an order to attack the positions of the Ukrainian defense forces in the Kursk region.

“Skobelev’s detachment took one of the groups of our soldiers by surprise and, as a result of the battle, captured nine military men. The prisoners were forced to undress and lie on the ground. To calm down and prevent resistance from the Ukrainians, they were promised that they would be sent for an exchange,” the message says. “However, by order of his commander, Skobelev, together with an accomplice, shot all the captured Ukrainian military personnel with service weapons.”

After this, the assault group of the invaders collected the mobile phones and radios of the victims and continued hostilities, the SBU added.

However, a week after this, Skobelev was captured by the Ukrainian military.

“At first he did not admit to what he had done, but SBU officers collected the necessary evidence that forced the racist to admit his guilt,” the report says.

As noted by the SBU, the crime committed is a grave violation of the Geneva Convention and other international documents defining the rules for the treatment of prisoners of war.

A report of suspicion is being prepared for Skobelev.
