Municipal Stadium “1 Mai” from Slobozia was inaugurated last stagewhere Unirea played for the first time at home in the Superliga, after a season and a half of playing “home” matches in Clinceni. The event ended, however, with a failure suffered by the team coached by Andrei Prepelita, 1-3 against UTA Arad.

Now, the arena is to be equipped with a night club. The installation has arrived in the port of Constanța and is to be installed at the stadium in Slobozia, a fact revealed by the president of the club, Ilie Lemnaru.

Ilie Lemnaru revealed that the installation of the nocturnal installation on the arena in Slobozia is coming

Those who won the auction informed us that both the poles and the reflectors arrived at the port in Constanța. He must transport them to Slobozia, after which they will be assembled. The next matches, both with Hermannstadt and Farul, are scheduled for 14:30“, said Ilie Lemnaru, according to sport.ro.

Unirea Slobozia waited for the opening of the new stadium, which underwent a renovation process, and on January 10 the first match was played in the new arena.

Around €2.65 million has been invested, and the stadium benefits from a new, hybrid turf, a 400-metre colored tartan running track, drainage system, automatic irrigation and electric heating.

The Romanian Football Federation provisionally approved the arena, before the installation of the night, thus Unirea Slobozia was able to host the match with UTA Arad.

Approximately 3,500 fans came to the stadium, for the first match played at home in the Superliga. The club management offered free entry to the match with UTA Arad.

After a good start to the championship, Unirea Slobozia even flirted with the play-off places, but after 22 stages, they ended up in 12th place, with 21 points. The victory with Metaloglobus in the last match played in 2025, score 3-2, ended the series of 9 consecutive failures for Unirea Slobozia.
