US President Donald Trump presented the golden logo of his Board of Peace at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Thursday, a logo that bears a striking resemblance to the UN emblem.
Like the UN symbol, the logo of Trump's Council shows the Earth framed by olive branches, write DPA and Agerpres.
But there is one key difference: while the 80-year-old UN emblem features a map of the world as seen from the North Pole, with all the continents visible, Trump's Peace Council logo places a single country — the U.S. — prominently and oversized in the center.
Also, the Peace Council logo is gold, the president's favorite color. The official emblem of the UN is still gold, although on the organization's flag the symbol is white on a blue background.

Donald Trump launched the “Council for Peace” in Davos on Thursday, the initiative that initially had the role of helping to end the war in Gaza, but ended up with a wider declared role, which Europe and other countries see as a rival or a threat to the United Nations (UN).
Trump addressed these concerns in his opening remarks at the signing ceremony, saying the new council would work with the UN while listing other important diplomatic issues in the region and around the world.

“Once this council is fully formed, we will be able to do basically anything we want. And we will do it in collaboration with the United Nations,” Trump said, adding that the UN has enormous potential that has yet to be fully tapped.
The Financial Times reports that six monarchs, three former Soviet officials-turned-heads of state, two military-backed regimes and a leader wanted by the International Criminal Court for alleged war crimes are among those who have rushed to join.

Some traditional US allies, many in Europe including France, Germany and Britain, have been hesitant to join the $1 billion council, responding cautiously or declining the invitation.
And apart from the US, no other permanent member of the UN Security Council – the five states with the most influence on international law and diplomacy since the end of World War II – has yet committed to joining.
Romania has said for the time being that it is still thinking.
