Meteorologists issued a yellow frost alert on Wednesday, targeting 13 counties in the north and center of the country, valid until tomorrow morning. At the same time, ANM announces that until the end of these weeks the weather will be particularly cold, with mixed precipitation and hail, throughout the country.

The yellow frost warning comes into effect from 8pm tonight and is in effect until 10am tomorrow 22nd January.

Targeted are 13 counties from Maramureș and most of Transylvania, as well as the north of Crișana and Moldova. Here, minimum temperatures will generally fall between -19 and -9 degrees, with the lowest values ​​in eastern Transylvania.

The yellow frost alert is valid between January 21, 20:00 – January 22, 10:00

Rain and sleet for the next few days

At the same time, ANM issued a weather information of particularly cold weather, frost at night and in the morning, mixed precipitation and hail, intensification of the wind, valid until January 23, at 10.00.

Thus, throughout Wednesday (January 21), there will be particularly low temperatures locally in the north, center and southeast of the country, and in the north of Moldova and in the depressions of eastern Transylvania, values ​​will be recorded around -10 degrees.

In the night from Wednesday to Thursday (January 21/22) there will be frost in the north and center of the country, where the thermal values ​​will generally be between -19 and -10 degrees.

In the southern regions, especially from the second part of the night from Wednesday to Thursday (January 21/22) and in the morning of Thursday (January 22), locally and temporarily there will be mixed precipitation and there will be dust in small areas.

On Thursday, there will be mixed precipitation in the eastern, southeastern regions and in limited areas in the center of the country, and it will be raining. Temporarily there will be wind intensifications, on Wednesday (January 21), in the south of Banat and Moldova, with gust speeds generally of 40…50 km/h.

For the Capital, on Wednesday, the weather will be particularly cold in the morning, but in the afternoon the thermal values ​​will generally be around the normal ones. The sky will be cloudy, and especially in the second part of the night there will be light mixed precipitation and precipitation. The wind will blow weak and moderate. The maximum temperature will be around 1 degree, and the minimum will be -3…-2 degrees.

On Thursday, the thermal regime will be characterized by normal values ​​for this time of the year. The sky will be cloudy, and in the early hours of the morning there will be light mixed precipitation and precipitation. The wind will generally be light. The maximum temperature will be 2…3 degrees, and the minimum -1…0 degrees. At night there will be foggy conditions.
